‘So, so beautiful, thank you! We couldn’t be happier with them’

The Riding School, Hatfield House Wedding

I photograph some beautiful Churches around Hertfordshire. One of my favourites, and that I am lucky enough to photograph often, is St Ethaldreda’s Church in Old Hatfield.

When Hannah & Will booked me as their wedding photographer I was thrilled to find out I would be back at St Ethaldreda’s again for their wedding ceremony.

Aside from the fact the Church is so incredibly beautiful, Father Darren ensures every service is so personal and full of thought that it is a joy to photograph wedding ceremonies here.

The Day

I joined the girls on the morning of the wedding at Beales Hotel, in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Beales hotel is a convenient location for morning preparations for weddings at Hatfield House and St Ethaldredas Church, given that it is only a 5-minute drive away. A drive that was much more luxurious than Hannah had been expecting after her Dad surprised her with a vintage wedding car for transport.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed Pimms and a selection of ales in the sunshine of St Ethaldredas courtyard. Before taking a short walk to the stunning grounds of Hatfield House to continue with their reception.

September is a great month to get married. With  golden colours all around, and long daylight hours which allow us photographers more time and opportunities to get outside with our couples.

The Riding School, Hatfield House

Hannah & Will’s wedding reception was held at The Riding School at Hatfield House. Hannah’s theme centered around her love of classic novels, with romantic floristry and trailing ivy. The interior beautifully reflected in the building’s glass.

The cake was almost upstaged by their amazing 6-tiered cheese wedding cake that even the most hardened arteries would have succumbed to during the evening buffet.

Fortunately, there was plenty of dancing to offset the cheese intake. As the reception drew to an end I left a packed dancefloor and headed outside one last time with Hannah & Will to the courtyard for their final closing shots.
