The Old Palace, Hatfield House Wedding Photography

Hatfield house in Old Hatfield, Hertfordshire is a stunning Jacobean house built in 1611, and is most famous for being the home that Elizabeth 1st grew up in.

It is documented that it was whilst sat under an Oak tree in the grounds of Hatfield House in 1558 Elizabeth 1st found out she would be Queen of England.

The Old palace was built around 1485,  and is famous for being where Elizabeth 1st held court as Queen. It is now a stunning wedding venue, one that I am proud to be a recommended photographer for, and the place Liz and Pete chose to hold their special day.

Their wedding ceremony took place just a stone’s throw from Hatfield House, at St Ethaldreda’s Church in Old Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

A beautiful church steeped in history,  St Ethaldreda’s Church dates back to the 13th century.

“We can honestly say we made the best decision choosing Zoe to be our wedding photographer.

We absolutely adore our wedding photographs. Each one tells a different story and together they have given us a complete picture of our special day, we cannot thank her enough for capturing our special day so perfectly”.

As well as a thriving church it is a popular setting for wedding ceremonies for couples who are holding their wedding receptions at Hatfield House, given its proximity to the Old Palace and Riding School venues at Hatfield house.

The great British summer as always can be unpredictable, and Liz & Pete’s wedding was no exception.

The Old Palace at Hatfield house is perfect for unpredictable weather because firstly the interior is so stunning, so if you do experience bad weather your wedding will not feel compromised by being located inside.

Secondly the Palace gardens where drinks receptions take place in dry weather, are located at the back of the Old Palace, which gave us the opportunity to nip out to the gardens after the rain had stopped. For Liz & Pete this meant we were able to spend some time out in the Palace grounds for some much desired outdoor photographs as soon as the weather allowed.

A perfect day, filled with love. I was very honoured to spend time with Liz, Pete and their wonderful friends and family.
