South Farm wedding photographer
“Thank you Zoe, our photos are just what we hoped for & more, they capture our day perfectly“
South Farm Wedding venue in Royston is nestled between Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire borders. It is a working farmhouse surrounded by rolling countryside and lots & lots of animals.
They said their vows outdoors with their guests watching from across the lake. Perfect when you are blessed with a beautiful Autumn day, as they were.
Mel and Jay chose shorter wedding coverage that didn’t include photos of them getting ready in the morning or the evening reception. I was with them from just before their ceremony until the end of the speeches.
INFORMAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT SOUTH FARM
“I dont like having my photo taken” The phrase I hear most from couples. Mel & Jay told me in the lead up to their wedding they hated having their photo taken.
My approach photographing weddings is to be informal, stand back and capture fun and meaningful moments. But, most importantly I listen to what couples want from their photographer and their wedding photos.
COUPLES PORTRAITS AT SOUTH FARM
Trust is everything, and I was able to persuade Mel and Jay to have a few informal and relaxed portraits during their drink’s reception. The results were relaxed, emotive photos of the two of them together, and they even admitted they actually enjoyed it.
After a drinks reception of ice cream, champagne and lawn games. Following this guests made their way to the Tudor Barn for the wedding breakfast. Meanwhile, I took opportunity to visit the Barn Yard and say hello to the unbelievably cute piglets.
WEDDING RECEPTION AT SOUTH FARM
My final role of the day was to capture the speeches after the wedding breakfast. I left as the party started, secretly gutted they didn’t need me to stay. But more importantly, knowing that they got exactly what they wanted from their photographer.
