SUMMER MILLING BARN WEDDING IN HERTFORDSHIRE

I have enjoyed many Milling Barn weddings over the years. But this one was particularly special to me because I had photographed the Bride’s sister’s wedding a few years earlier.

Building relationships with my couples and their families is so important to me, I was thrilled to be asked again, and entrusted, to photograph another family wedding.

Megan and Tony chose Milling Barn for their summer wedding day. Surrounded by Hertfordshire countryside, Milling Barn is a 17th Century converted oak barn in Buntingford, Hertfordshire.

MILLING BARN CEREMONY

I joined Megan and her bridesmaids at her family home in the morning. With three sisters as well as nephews and nieces the morning was a hive of noise and activity, all nestled under a cloud of hairspray.

With the ceremony approaching I made my way to Milling Barn to meet up with Tony and his Groomsmen, as guests took their seats waiting for the arrival of the bridal party.

Megan and Tony held their wedding ceremony in the Dairy Barn, which used to be an old milking parlour. Allowing for the main barn to be set up for their wedding breakfast

Following the ceremony wedding guests enjoyed ice creams, and champagne outside on the lawn. Entertainment was provided by magician Steve Rowe (as well as the little bridal party who provided the free entertainment). The drinks reception seemed to pass in a flash and before we knew it, it was time to take our seats back in the barn.

I had taken Megan and Tony off for a few informal pictures of just the two of them together during the drinks reception. But, I am always watching as the evening draws in to see how the skies change. We had had a bright sunny day with clear skies so we had a good chance of a sunset. And with surrounding fields just outside of the barn I had planned in advance a few areas I would take them.

After the quiet of the fields with the sun setting we joined the guests who were in full party mode ready for the evening reception. The perfect end to a fantastic wedding day.
