A summer wedding at Shenley Cricket Club in Hertfordshire, was the choice of venue for Andrea and Paul’s wedding day. Guests have the choice to marry either inside or outside the main pavilion with the adjoining marquee to host their wedding receptions.
Andrea and Paul had planned to hold their ceremony outside on the patio of the cricket pavilion. Which of course meant the typical unpredictable British weather kept us guessing throughout the morning . It turned out the grey clouds were a threat. And Andrea and Paul’s ceremony was held outside exactly as they had planned.
After the ceremony guests enjoyed ice creams on the cricket ground. Whilst Andrea, Paul and I went off to capture some informal photos in the Walled Garden.
We all then headed to the summer marque for the wedding reception. Andrea and her family had spent so much time creating the décor that would transform the marquee and it looked fantastic. I always make a point to photograph the details that all pull together to make the final look of a venue. Especially knowing how much time, effort and cost are often involved.
There was a huge emphasis on fun at this wedding, and I knew the evening was going to be a blast to photograph. From the speeches that ensured every embarrassing moment experienced by the couple was now public knowledge, to the dancefloor where I could have happily stayed all night with my camera.
The heels came off, the flip-flop’s on and the guests were ready to party.
The perfect end to a fantastic wedding.
