TYTHE BARN WEDDING, TEWINBURY

Wedding season would feel strange without a Tewinbury wedding. It offers several different options for couples, although I am mainly found photographing weddings in The Tythe Barn, which is perfect for larger wedding parties.

Tewinbury’s location set alongside the River Mimram and located between Hertford and Welwyn, make it a firm, favourite for couples wanting a rustic style wedding in Hertfordshire.

Clare and Chris chose to host their wedding in Tewinbury’s Tythe Barn . The 17th Century barn has a vast interior with exposed beams, wood floors, and a minstrel’s gallery used as a quieter area for guests. Wedding parties also have private use of outside grounds overlooking the River Mimram.

Claire and Chris’s wedding introduced me to something I hadn’t experienced before, a Marryoke.

A Marryoke, for those not in the know, is a filmed karaoke performance by as many guests as possible throughout the day. Clare & Chris’s song was ‘Blame It On The Boogie’ by Michael Jackson. with dancing and miming non-negotiable.

The Bridal party was the first Marryoke’ers. Popping out between between hair and makeup to perform to the camera.

I caught sight of the videographer throughout the day shepherding (sometimes unsuspecting) guests to the camera. I could have happily spent the day just photographing the guests dance moves.

Tewinbury wedding Ceremony

Clare and Chris’s wedding ceremony took place in The Tythe Barn. Their one year old Son chose to overlook proceedings from his replica Porche car.

Their vows, which they had written themselves had family and friends in tears. They chose to conclude their ceremony with Jewish traditions of encircling the Groom and finally breaking the glass to a huge round of applause from their guests.

The beautiful Spring day allowed guests to enjoy the drinks reception in Tewin Bury’s gardens.
