The Priory Little Wymondley is a fantastic barn wedding venue in the Hertfordshire countryside.
The Barn has been a dedicated wedding venue since 1992, but its history dates way back to 1541 when the Tithe Barn was built by James Needham, the carpenter to King Henry VIII.
As an exclusive wedding venue, you have no fear of bumping into another wedding. And as a family run venue, it offers a personal touch to weddings.
THE PRIORY BARN LITTLE WYMONDLEY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
The Tithe Barn offers all the character you would expect from a historic building. From beautiful beams, a flagstone floor, and a raised stage. Its rustic charm means you to dress the barn as much or as little as you like. The beauty of the building speaks for itself.
The open plan space is versatile, with a raised stage that can be used for the top table or band. But with Rachael & Daniel Ceilidh’s band being very much part of the dancefloor action, they chose to use the raised stage to show off their cake by Heaven is a Cupcake in all its glory.
Rachel & Daniel’s wedding at The Priory little Wymondley was an absolute corker of a wedding. They wanted candid wedding photos capturing all the fun and emotion. And boy did they bring the fun.
With all of Rachel’s family flying in from Ireland, it promised to be an emotional day to have all their friends and family under one roof.
“Zoë is a total pro. In addition to being a positive and helpful presence for us personally she made the right impression on our guests, eliciting laughs and smiles from old, young, drunk & sober guests with equal ease”
SUNSET WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
One of my most requested pictures from couples is a sunset shot. And the golden hour is my favourite time of the day to photograph people because the light is so damn good!
The most obvious problem with getting a sunset shot is a cloudy sky and no sunset. Furthermore, the less obvious challenge with a sunset shot is at what time the sun will set. And subsequently how that fits with your schedule for the day.
Obviously, in the summer months, the sun will set later in the evening. That in itself presents a challenge, resulting in a perfect sunset right in the middle of your first dance.
A June wedding resulted in Rae & Dan being faced with this exact challenge, when mid-way through their Ceilidh dancing, the sunset and gave us a beautiful sky.
I knew how much Rae & Dan would love sunset photos as we discussed it at length during our planning meeting. And they knew if the opportunity presented itself I would deliver. So when we got the all-important sunset we dashed outside, got the photos and were back on the dancefloor before anyone even noticed we had gone.
WHY A CEILIDH BANDS ARE GREAT FOR WEDDING RECEPTIONS
The dancefloor has to be my favourite part of a wedding day to photograph. It is when everyone truly lets their hair down, resulting in fantastic fun photographs. A Ceilidh band will always add to the fun of a dancefloor, and Rachel & Dan’s dancefloor did not disappoint. I loved every second of capturing the madness and trying not to get hit by flailing arms and legs!
Thank you Rae & Dan for having me along to capture your fantastc day! X
