Welwyn Garden City wedding photographer Zoë Cooper

‘Zoë has been amazing from start to finish. She also made an impression on the three most important men in my life (my dad, Rich and Max) so she must be a winner! We would recommend Zoë to anyone. She is very professional, personable and quickly builds up a good rapport with everyone. Thank you so much. We are blown away by our wedding photos’

The View Wedding Day

The View is a golf complex in Welwyn Garden City with a licensed suite for weddings and events. In 2017 it was taken over by the team at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel, who wanted to maximise its potential as a wedding venue.

I joined Gemma and her bridal party at their hotel on the morning of her wedding. The morning gives me a great opportunity to get to know the bridal party, as well as capturing the all important details like the dresses.

The View is really a blank canvass for couples, and Gemma did a fantastic job of transforming the room.

With it being a Spring wedding and no guarantees of good weather, she included a flower wall for a backdrop if photos needed to be inside.

As it turned out this Spring day ended up being one of the hottest on record. Gemma and Richard got to have their ceremony outside just as they had hoped.

Photographing Children

For couples who have young children, I like to break up the photos. Children have a limited attention span and therefore I like to get any ones including the children out of the way soon after the ceremony (and most importantly before their pristine outfits get covered in chocolate). Above all, it’s about making it fun for the kiddies, and engaging with them.

After Gemma and Richard had a chance to mingle with guests, I took them off alone for some relaxed photos, and most importantly a chance for them to steal 5 minutes together. But, on this occasion the photos weren’t quite so relaxed as a result of us we allowing Richard control of the golf buggy when driving us to my pre-planned locations.

I had been keeping my eye on the sky as the evening drew in, sure we could be in for a sunset. The views over the Panshanger golf fairway are fantastic and our luck was in. Sunsets fade as quickly as they arrive and Gemma, Richard and I dashed outside  straight after dinner to grab we got the shot before the sun went down.

Thank you Gemma and Richard for having me as your wedding photographer.
