A Luton Hoo wedding is a dream to photograph. This impressive 18th-century mansion house wedding venue situated on the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire border. And although it is incredibly grand in scale, Luton Hoo also hosts smaller and more informal weddings.

Verity and Andrew chose Luton Hoo for their intimate wedding day. Along with their two young children, they invited a small group of close friends and family.

Their wedding ceremony was held in the Churchill Room, which is one of 12 wedding rooms at Luton Hoo licensed for civil ceremonies.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the sunshine, outside in the landscaped gardens.

The grounds at Luton Hoo is dream backdrop for photographing couples. Although, all powers of bribery were needed to get the younger members of the wedding party as enthusiastic for having their photo taken.

I have children myself, so I am well experienced in tantrums, and children doing the exact opposite to what you would like them to do!

Firstly, the key to photographing children is to take the pressure off and don’t try to direct them.

Verity and Andrew were superb at going with the flow and not getting stressed about having the perfect family photo. Eventually all of us parents come to realise we no longer have the upper hand at home.

Following the drinks reception, guests then made their way to a private dining room for dinner. Verity and Andrews Son chose to bypass the meal and go straight in for the wedding cake.

Verity and Andrew spent the evening after their wedding breakfast with a few friends and family who were also staying at Luton Hoo that night. Above all they managed to balance such a grand and formal venue, with a bespoke and perfectly informal wedding day.
