HATFIELD HOUSE WEDDING

One of the most popular wedding venues in Hertfordshire is the award-winning Hatfield House.

I am proud to be a recommended photographer for this amazing venue. It is great photographing a venue you are so familiar with, and always exciting to see so many different styles in this historic venue.

Built by Robert Cecil in 1611, Hatfield House is set in 42 acres of park and gardens.

The grounds and buildings are steeped in history, being the childhood home of Elizabeth Ist. And where she found out she would be Queen whilst sitting under a tree in the grounds of Hatfield House.

Situated just off the A1M, and opposite the train station. It is convenient for travelling guests and has ample parking, as well as local hotels & accommodations. The venue hosts many events including the hugely popular Battle Prom, Classic Ibiza, and has been the backdrop to Hollywood films.

THE OLD PALACE AT HATFIELD HOUSE

Built-in 1485 and where Queen Elizabeth I held Council of State meetings. The Old Palace is without a doubt a grand Hertfordshire wedding venue.

The Old Palace guarantees the wow factor with its medieval brickwork and high beamed ceiling. And its history is a great talking point for wedding guests. The Banqueting Hall accommodates medium to large wedding ceremonies and receptions.

The space within the palace is huge. And can accommodate round or long table set-ups for receptions. Consequently, it also means drinks receptions on rainy days can be held inside without disrupting the reception table layouts.

THE GARDENS

On dry days drinks receptions are hosted in the Knot Gardens. With a mixture of lawns perfect for garden games such as croquet, flowers and benches to relax. With stunning landscaped gardens and grounds overlooking the house, The Knot Gardens are a perfect backdrop for wedding photos.

Various packages are available to couples, as is the additional option of dry hire for cultural weddings.

The Old Palace can host up to 250 guests for ceremonies, and up to 300 guests for evening receptions. Both The Old Palace and The Riding School are licensed for civil ceremonies and marriages.

THE RIDING SCHOOL

The Riding School is an alternative venue to The Old Palace. With a contemporary feel, and natural light from the glass roof.

The Riding School is located in the Stable Yard Courtyard, alongside a selection of independent businesses & food suppliers.

The Riding School is ideal for small to medium-sized weddings. And can also be hired alongside The Old Palace for large weddings.

It is ideal for couples looking for a blend of modern architecture and historical features, within the surroundings of historic buildings.

CHURCH WEDDINGS

For couples wishing to have a religious Church ceremony, St Ethaldredas’ Church is just a stone’s throw away overlooking The Old Palace. With minimal travel to Hatfield House, guests can happily park up and make the short walk between the Church and the reception.

The large Church dates back to the 13th Century and is beautiful inside. Father Darren, who I have had the pleasure of photographing many times is an absolute asset to the Church, making ceremonies fun, personal and relevant to all.
