Shenley Cricket Club Wedding in Hertfordshire
I have photographed weddings at Shenley Cricket Club on many occasions, and during different seasons. They have options to marry inside or outside the main pavilion, and use the adjoining summer and winter marquees for wedding receptions.
For Andrea and Paul’s wedding, they had planned to hold their ceremony outside overlooking the cricket pavilion. Resulting (typically) in the great British summer becoming unpredictable. This consequently kept us guessing right up to the wedding day itself.
Whilst the grey clouds may have threateningly loomed not a rain drop fell. And Andrea and Paul’s ceremony was held outside exactly as they had planned.
After the ceremony guests enjoyed ice creams and drinks on the cricket grounds. And I took Andrea, Paul off for a short time for some photos at the Walled Garden and woodlands.
The Reception
The reception was held in the summer marque. Andrea and her family had spent so much time creating the décor that would transform the marquee, and it looked fantastic.
I have always made a point to photograph the small touches and details that together make the final look of a venue. Especially as I know how much time, effort and cost is involved.
There was a huge emphasis on fun at this wedding, and I knew the evening was going to be a blast to photograph.
From the speeches that ensured every embarrassing moment experienced by the couple was now public knowledge, to the dancefloor where I could have happily stayed all night with my camera.
The heels came off, the flip-flop’s on and the guests were ready to party. The perfect end to a fantastic wedding.
